Ronald Chavarro Review of The Clinical Skin Center of No...

This is the first review I have ever made for any type of an establishment, however, given what I just went through this morning (12/16/20) I felt a need to make others aware. My primary care physician faxed a referral to Dr. Stashower's office three separate times over a week and half period of time. I called Dr. Stashower's office each time and it was only after the third fax that a women in Stashower's office confirmed they received the faxed referral. When I arrived today, the woman at the front desk (Not Rose) told me in a less than pleasant manner and voice that they did not have a referral for me. I explained how many times my primary care Dr. faxed the referral to them and that a woman in her office confirmed for me that they had received the referral. The woman proceeded to say something very similar to "...well I am telling you we don't have a referral for you and you can't be seen without a referral...." I then said, "the problem must be with your office's fax and clearly a woman in your office shared with me that your office did in fact receive my referral so there is one or more problem points with your office regarding receiving my referral. Can someone in your office call my primary care physician's office and determine what is the best way for your office to receive the referral soon as I need to have my AM appointment take place soon as I need to return to work." The woman made it very clear to me that she did not like the fact that I had just stated the facts and she then proceeded to say something very similar to "...we are short staffed and too busy right now you are going to have to work it out with your Dr.'s office yourself." After calling my Primary Care's office they immediately faxed another copy of the referral and the office received it. While I was seated about 9 plus feet away from the woman she asked me a question from behind the reception desk and from behind a plexiglass barrier. When I began to answer her question my face mask dropped below my mouth and she very abruptly, unprofessionally, and in a condescending and authoratative manner said verbatim "You need to put your mask on." I then said, "you don't need to speak to me in that manner." She then said, "that is how I speak to everyone." I said, "Well then you are speaking to everyone inappropriately however you don't need to speak to me that way." When I was called back to my appointment, the assistant/nurse that walked me back asked how was my day going. I very quickly explained to her what I had just experienced and I asked her to share with Dr. Stashower that I wanted to speak with him about what had just happened. She said, "I will definitely let him know so he can come speak with you." To make things worse, the Physican's Assistant who was supposed to just "shave off" the top layers of skin off of a wart on the palm of my hand, held the scalpel blade at such a steep angle, that she cut deep in to my hand which cause a very nasty and deep cut such that I started to bleed significantly. In the end, the original assistant/nurse came back and said, I can give you the Office Manager's phone number so you can call her to share your experience. In other words, it appeared to me that Dr. Stashower had no interest in hearing what my concerns were. I, and my two children have been patients of that office for many years. The other front desk receptionist whose first name is Rose has ALWAYS been incredibly kind, professional, and helpful, which is a clear difference from the woman I dealt with this morning. The PA that assisted me today, had assisted me in the past, and whether it was her or another female PA in that office, a PA in that office had shaved that exact same spot on my hand before and I was never cut or made to bleed. I have never had a bad experience with anyone in that office over the past 7 years however I nor any of my family will EVER go back there again to be exposed to such an unprofessional receptionist and the inappropriate laceration that I received was very troubling. Amazing from a Dr.'s office.
