Observed a friend pick up their car from service. Not really impressed unfortunately. He had warranty service done and dealership acknowledged it was a warranty claim, but couldnt get formal approval from head office because they were 'busy and didnt respond'.
So the only way they would release the vehicle was to get his credit card number as collateral 'because they have been burned in the past'. Essentially saying they dont trust a long term C level executive client with a leased BMW.
So strangely an internal issue within BMW gets the risk transferred to the customer through no fault of their own. Poor service in my view. Thankfully MB never has done nor suggested that to me. Guess a difference in approach and view of the customer.
