The doctors are not current on current FDA protocols on Covid-19. I was told by a Critical Care Pulmonologist that Saint Joseph and Kaiser Permanent was not initially selected for trails on the Monoclonal Antibody. This drug protocol was approved by the FDA on Nov 21st, 2020 for use outside the initial trails. This same doctor told me that Saint Joseph and Kaiser Permanente will not investigate getting this drug protocol or use this drug protocol for Covid 19 patients.

When you call to check on your family member and speak with the patients Nurse, the Nurse cannot give you specifics. They use medical terms you do not understand, when you ask them to explain what they just said, the nurse cannot always translate medical terms into plain English. The Nurses can be poor communicators, it's like pulling teeth trying to get specific information.

The Patient Advocate department is slow to respond. As much as 2 hours after you leave a message. They swear they called but no messages are left and no record of the incoming call shows up. If a family member is sedated and the person with the medical power of attorney wants their family member moved to a different hospital, you will not get help from this department. They give you wrong information about getting a family member transferred and make you the person who has to do all the work to get the transfer done.

The Hospital Administrator does not return phone calls.

If you call the general phone number for Saint Joseph hospital, the call goes to a general switch board some where outside this hospital. If you ask for someone specific by name at Saint Joseph Hospital, the person who answered your call doesn't have a clue on how to find this person you want to talk to.

Due to the poor care my family member (who has Covid 19) has received, neither of us will ever go into this hospital ever again. I do not care what my insurance carrier says, we will NEVER use this hospital again.
