Pricing is expensive and the staff on during a Sun...

Pricing is expensive and the staff on during a Sunday afternoon weren't quite on the ball. Our group of 10 hired bikes for 2 hours but over 20mins of that (yes they were counting) was taken up sorting out our payments and bikes.
People were queue jumping at the tills and their system of moving available bikes from one rack to another to mark them as hired would have been fine if they all fit in there. In our case two didn't. I volunteered to stay outside the office and watch the two extra bikes so they weren't rehired while the group paid. The gentleman who hired me my own bike not 60 seconds before, at the spot I was still standing in, next to the bike he'd hired me, came and grabbed the bike to rehire it. I stopped him and said I was just holding onto it while the group paid. Not a problem, he said. Another member of staff did the same 20 seconds later, but he wasn't to know any different. I told him what I was doing. Then another half minute passed and the first guy came back again. I literally hadn't moved. He tutted slightly and moved on. Then the second guy came back shortly after, tried to take the bike. I told him I'd hired it. He huffed and said it should be in the other rack, noticed it was full and said "well you should be staying with it then" to me.. as I stood between the crossbars of two bikes, in adjacent racks.
I'm unsure how I was still in the wrong for doing what he suggested!

All in all, bedgebury was a lovely place, the parking is too expensive. Disguising it as en entrance fee doesn't help. If you cycled or walked there you wouldn't have to pay.
Bike hire was also on the steep side but we knew that before we went. Just wish the experience got off to a better start.
