The most outstanding part of our entire experience...

The most outstanding part of our entire experience was the service. Jennifer was the most outstanding server we have had in long awhile, and she was what really pushed this review to five stars. She was incredibly attentive, cheerful, and truly made going out a worthwhile experience. The food was fantastic as well. The balance, combinations, and efforts were very worthy of a high-end restaurant. My favourite was the seasonal spot prawn dish, full of shellfish flavour, sweetness, and just the right amount of richness. Jennifer made sure we had enough bread to sop up the delicious lobster bisque they used as a base. The sablefish had really clean Asian flavours, with a simple dashi and soy sauce broth that had really powerful umami in it. The dessert was simply to die for, a creamy cheesecake on top of a crispy meringue, just decadent. The only thing that I recommend you do not have are the rolls. They are poorly wrapped, do not have much of a wow factor, fall apart too easily, and are simply not worth it. I did not try the sashimi, but you probably can expect the same. I was going to give 4 stars for that, since the bland Alaska King Crab roll fell apart on me, especially at $37.50, but I will keep it at 5 stars for our server Jennifer. All restaurants have something that's not perfect I guess. Aside from that, great experience, great service, great food. And goodness gracious, the seaweed butter and chickpea spread, I could go again and only eat that on the homemade bread!
