I am a dues paying member of the IBEW 716 Local, however, I no longer work with my tools. I have stepped out of being an electrical laborer and have been estimating for a very large General Contractor.
My opinion is this... This Local and the IBEW as a whole provide the most consistently trained and quality electrical labor when compared to the non-union firms in the area. The management often push to compete by giving their best pursuit to remain under-budget and ahead of schedule.
I have had a very good experience with the Local 716's leadership, guidance and I trust that my projects that they are awarded are always in good hands.

As for Bubba @ Fisk Electric, I do not care for him either. Some men are leaders, some men are teachers... Bubba is not one of those. He may be intelligent and knows his job, but he is the sort of man that if you give him an ounce of power... he will abuse it. I would adamantly refuse to work with him again.

That being said... he does NOT represent what the IBEW stands for. So my opinion will never be based on his behaviors.
