Ah The Hilton... One expects a very high level of service at any Hilton Hotel and in some ways the Niagara Hilton truly delivers. Beautiful rooms, a great view of the falls, and the Brasa Restaurant is a meat lover's dream come true. But that's where it ends, disappointingly so.
We stayed there overnight on November 23, 2018 and we chose to have breakfast at their buffet. It was the WORST MEAL we have ever had! Cold, cold, cold food, under cooked scrambled eggs, bacon that was nearly raw, sausage uncooked in the center. It was food poisoning waiting to happen. EWWWWW!!!!
We reported the experience on the comment card and were contacted by the restaurant manager the next day. Great, we thought, they're following up. After much back and forth we spoke eventually to a lady named Miranda who kindly offered us a free meal on our return. NO apology, no reason for the food quality, and not a single word accepting responsibility for the under cooked food. Given the quality of the meal, we declined her offer and asked to be contacted by a more senior person. The Director of Food and Beverage, a gentleman named Nick was to contact us. This was on December 5th. Now almost 3 weeks later, we have not heard back and our concern remains unresolved.
As more time passes, we've come to realize that customer satisfaction is not a mandate at the executive level of this Hotel. It's troubling that neither Nick nor his assistant Heather have taken the 5 minutes to call. If this is the nature of their hospitality, for us, it's a simple switch to stay at another hotel.
Be warned... don't eat at the Breakfast Buffet. Chances are, like us, you'll be ill for days. It happened to us, and it could happen to you.
