The Kaufhof Rostock used to offer a pleasant sales atmosphere. Recently - apparently in connection with the Karstadt merger - the red pencil is clearly felt. It's just scary.
There used to be a cash register in every department. Now you have to go with his purchases to one of two cash registers in the whole house. We were on the ground floor. There was a queue at the cash register, as in East times when there were bananas.
I had looked at a few watches before - not because I really wanted to buy one, but you can watch it. Who knows ... ?! The local customer service representative was friendly and really eager, but it was quickly obvious that she did not really know about watches. I had asked for a clock after the built clockwork. Answer: "This is an automatic." Yes, great! That's on it. I do not need a consultant for that. She just did not know because she was not a specialist.
As luck would have it, I come after a long queue (see above) to the cash register. Since I'm cashed at the box office by a really competent watch specialist saleswoman. I knew that, because this lady has been working for many years in the Kaufhof and she has actually sold me several watches (that's such a fancy of me).
What is this nonsense nonsense? As the watches is a lady who has no idea and at the cash register is the watch specialist?

In addition: In the entire house a music was played from a central music system: loud, shrill, exhausting ....
In the immediate cash register area, however, it was so loud that a conversation between the customer and the employee was hardly possible.

Summary: A sales culture in this department store is unfortunately no longer available. THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS !!!
