Our daughter is as Apsie (high functioning). She spent almost 2 years at LRA and that is where she received most of her high school education after a disastrous freshman year in various local educational situations. She was a member of the Essence program at LRA. It was hard for her but it was required and she acknowledges it. She's been home for about 6 months now, attending a local private school and is being successful. LRA's staff were kind and worked real hard to assist our daughter in coping with real world disappointments that she was unable to manage at home. Was life at LRA perfect ... of course not. Nor is life perfect now that she's home. That's the way life is for all of us. We believe that LRA probably saved our daughter's life.

Regarding tours ... our daughter was a tour leader during the last 6 months or so of her stay at LRA She was open in answering questions and she certainly wasn't bribed :)

That was our experience. We have no regrets having sent our daughter to LRA and are thankful that we did.
