We went to see the R&B Forever tour at State Farm Arena. It was easily the worst show ever on record. The show included Boys II Men, En Vogue, Teddy Riley and Blackstreet, Dru Hill, Karyn White, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill.

Our tickets said 7 p.m. and the show was changed to 8 p.m. without notice so we had to stand in the lobby for an hour while they did sound checks. Once the show started the setup between acts took at least 30 minutes each which miserably extended the showtime and the monitors were not used so if you didn't pay premium pricing you were viewing singing ants.

There was obvious chaos and confusion as some acts were moved in place of others to apparently appease them. Boys II Men were the beneficiaries of this and did great along with Teddy Riley and also Dru Hill.

En Vogue didn't fare so well and only got three songs and were noticably upset. Johnny Gill appeared inebriated as he was simply horrific and was playing bongos and a drum set more than he sang and then started trying to minister to everyone as his performance came off the rails at the end of the night with poor Ralph Tresvant who only got half a song and was cut to last and said he wasn't used to this as he walked off. Karyn White was okay and was first up.

Overall It was 6 hours of pure misery as the show wasn't over until close to 1 a.m. and most had already left in disgust.

Stay FAR away from after 9 partners promotions. These guys need to be ashamed of themselves as that was the most unprofessional display of business that I have ever seen. I will never attend a show being promoted by them again!!!

Shameful...
