I casually attempted to start a conversation with a US Water Svc's tech about the basic workings of the system in place at an RV park in which I was staying in Dover, Florida. The nature of my questions were friendly and inquisitive and eventually wouldve ended up attempting to get answers about the frequent interruption of water pressure and the poor quality of water supplied. Before it got anywhere near that territory the service tech became very anxious and confused about who I was and suggested these answers I was seeking was simply none of my buisness. I was amused by his being overwelmed by simple conversation. He then panicked and rushed to his company vehicle taking off in a dangerous manner also leaving the enclosure protecting this equipment wide open and accessible to anyone with a notion to possibly further contaminate the water supplying this RV park. This very strange reaction has me questioning the stability of someone who can affect a large number of people if they wanted to. Besides the lack of professionalism of which I can laugh about, this incident alarms me that there is possibly not the same hiring standards as a municipality would excercise in pre-employment background screening. I am not a fan of the abuses and gross inefficiencies of government services but there most definately is some gaps in security when such services are farmed out to private companies. This persons behavior was alarming and its scary to think of the possible scenarios. But thankfully Ill be moving and wont have to worry about those scenarios playing out.
