Absolutely disgusted by the attitude shown by the general manager at this hotel. I run a small family business and had equipment worth thousands of pounds at the hotel for a recent wedding there. They have damaged our equipment badly by lifting it without our authority or any experience to do so and left it against a heater which was on full blast. This in turn has left us without the use of the equipment which means cancellation of other events and is going to cost us a fortune to replace. The general manager has admitted it was their fault,couldnt really deny it as we have video evidence, but has bluntly told us that it's not their problem and we should claim off our own insurance without even so much as an apology. We were gobsmacked by his complete arrogance and obviously we have told him we are taking this further. I can only assume that if guests cause thousands of pounds of damage to their hotel then they wont be looking to be refunded? I dont know who owns this hotel but the attitude of some of their staff is a complete disgrace. Other companies and guests have had similar problems in the past and it is a shocking way to treat people. The latest update is that General manager has now asked us if we have proof that our property was not damaged prior to going to hotel. We told him we did but all of a sudden he has went quiet. There are so many stories of appalling behaviour by this hotel and their owners Crerar hotels that it is clear they only want their money without any thoughts of their guests or small companies who work there.
