We came from a smaller city and this zoo seemed huge to us. We only got through about one third. The afternoons are so hot and the animals are less active so I'd definitely agree that it's best to get out there as early as possible.

I like that many of the exhibits have an indoor and an outdoor component, so if the animals are inside or sleeping, you can still see them.

I also like reading the back stories of the animals whom many were hurt or rescued from captivity. Otherwise it's a little sad to see large cats or big animals in small enclosures.

I really appreciated also how many zoo staff were around with educational materials and answers to questions. Far more than I've seen at any other zoo.

I didn't buy any food or drinks so can't comment on those.
