We WALKED OUT as I was so upset and went to another restaurant for our dinner. I would give a ZERO above if I was able to.

WE had heard only praise for Websters so we decided to make reservations and treat two of our friends for their birthdays. We made a reservation two weeks in advance for 7:00. When we arrived we were told we would have a twenty minute wait and to please use the bar in the meantime. I was FURIOUS! When I request a reservation two weeks in advance I expect to be seated at the time of my 7:00 arrival and it not be suggested to go have a drink at the bar (and spend more money) while waiting. If they had offered to pay for the drink, it would have been a nice gesture but they didn't. I don't accept a restaurant's excuse that prior attendees are staying longer than expected at their table(s) That is unacceptable to people making advance reservations. Rather than trying to get an extra "turn" of the table or an extra drink at the bar I suggest that the owners keep their advance reservation people as their priority.

Also, I suggest that they consider the following:

On Friday and Saturday nights that they give prospective customers a choice of times such as 5:30, 7:30 and 9:30 or whatever time frames they think works best for them. That way, customers know ahead of time that they are supposed to limit their table time to a reasonable 2 hour time frame and the next customer can expect their seating at the prescribed time. This approach works as we have had to make reservations in that manner at other fine restaurants.
