The Arch is beautiful! This is a surprisingly big visitor center and also a gorgeous museum as well! You can get your National Park Passport stamped here right at the entrance, then you walk through security which also runs your bags through.
The museum is big with a large amount of information on the history of the West as well as the Arch. It s very well done with beautiful visuals and video. The visitor center store is your normal NPS store, with all the things you are use to. Books, magnets, post cards, patches, pins. A little Arch replica is a cute item.
There is also a cafe there and plenty of sitting room. The cafe composts and recycles everything. Really, it s everything. Keep your items separate so you can throw the food in the compost bin instead of the trash one. Food is around $10 and up. Water is a whomping $3-4 a bottle. I had a St. Louis burger (pulled pork on top and more, very food), that comes with chips plus a 33.8 FL oz water bottle and cost me around $18. So not cheap but convenient because it s there. You can eat under the Arch, but I suggest going outside and sitting on the steps by the Arch to view the waterfront, it s gorgeous!
I didn t go up in the Arch, so can t attest to that but it s very cheap. Under $20. Like $13 or $15. There is a long line for each tram up. We didn t want to wait, and many friends have told me it s pretty smooshed up there with everyone but I d probably do it if I was in the city again.
There are also boat tours around the city and horse and buggy rides right from the Arch.
