It was honestly a terrible experience.
We had booked Carolina Joy and for unforeseeable complications with the homeowner, we had to switch with just a month to travel. We picked Papa Jer and it was horrible. The 'non smoking' home reeked of cigarettes from the moment we walked in. We have been coming to Topsail for 38 years... My grandmother is 90 and has asthma, which was a huge problem with the cigarette smell. We have 6 children that cried and complained about how stinky the house was. We called maintenance and reported the problem and we're basically shut down, stating it was an old house and old house smell---WRONG. House keeping came out to try and clean again, they admitted that have reported the cigarette smell to the realty group several times and have been shut down. The air filters were darn near black, absolutely disgusting.
Monday, we called again to report the smell. A man named Travis called me and was extremely rude to me over the phone and was rude to my aunt in person stating the home didn't smell like cigarettes at all. They sent someone to clean the downstairs carpets, who also said the home reeked of cigarettes. We were told someone would be back with a humidifier type machine, they never came back.
The kitchen was very outdated, the pots and pans were awful. When you cooked, the cigarette smell got worse! The property was overall seemed very outdated, run down and poorly maintained, which we attribute to Lewis Reality property management. We even have several photos of some of the most concerning areas, should you be interested in seeing them.
Again, we have never experienced anything like this. It was extremely upsetting to feel like you, the realtor, could have careless about our complaints. It's very unfortunate, but we will not return to Lewis Reality again, bc it was that bad of an experience.

Also.... I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Chris to notify him of how unhappy we were (I had to call them, bc no one called me). He was completely dismissive to all of our complaints and basically told me the house didn't smell and I was wrong.
Terrible, terrible customer service and terrible care of their property.
