My husband and I were picking up an order at a Chinese Restaurant in Hickory. As my husband attempted to recap our order to the owner, and I was explaining the difficulty I had in getting delivery, a young man rudely interrupted our conversation to tell me (at my back) that I should have used The Delivery Chef. I replied that I had tried them first and that this particular restaurant was not listed on their website. He then proceeded to argue with me, saying he was picking up an order and consequently pulled up the website on his phone , then shoved it in my face to show me the picture of the restaurant we were in. I am a senior and was of course upset that I was forced to pick up my food, but I became more upset because the young man was not observing social distancing. As the man attempted to give me a history and background of the company (The Delivery Chef) for which he is a driver, I told the store owner, who was apologizing profusely that I would just like to get my food and go. Shortly thereafter, we took our food and left. I will admit that by that time, I was so upset that I turned and told the young man that he should work on his customer service skills, at which he sarcastically replied : Have a great night.". I am sad to say I will never use this service because of his poor attitude. He may be tired, but he has a job and should remember many are suffering besides him.
