I signed a 5 year lease with this company when I started my own business two years ago. The renting space was 1,300 sq ft and only open two days a week. This is apparently a small business but the sale put my lease under the category of industry commercial business by mistake, which I just knew when requesting early termination recently. During the pandemic I had to move my office to home so I requested to early terminate this lease. In Texas, a small business owner has no obligation for early termination fee due to relocation. However, Hudson Energy sent me a bill of around $4,000 for ETF. I contacted the customer service many times but they insisted my business was an industry commercial business and I must pay for this huge ETF. I reported this issue to Public Utility Commission of Texas. After several times of discussion with PUC and Hudson Energy, Hudson Energy found the audio record when I was signing the lease with a sales by phone, and realized their mistake. Finally they reversed the EOF. The whole process took me several weeks, which shouldn't happen at all. You don't know what they do to you when signing a lease with them!
