I have been a loyal customer and "promoter" of Trek/Treknology for over 10 years, bought 4 bikes myself and recommended numerous customers. Out of nowhere I discovered a crack on the left seat stay of my Emonda. The Treknology mechanics were very quick determining that it must have been caused by outside force and reported this to Trek/USA, who of course jumped on this verdict and rejected to apply their lifelong warranty. They offered a 25% discount on a new frame. Then Treknology still charged a few 100 SGD for the transfer of the components to the new frame and when picking up the bike, Treknology only wanted to honor 20% discount. Only after me asking them to check their correspondence with Trek they complied. Their communication came across like "I couldn't care less" if the customer is dissatisfied, and they said we must be fair to Trek, not only to the customer. I still like the Trek bikes (though this one will definitely be my last Trek), but Treknology's arrogance and lack of customer - service and -focus sucks. There are plenty of great bikes from other manufacturers around. Can't wait to ride them.
