The show was fabulous!! Civic Center not so fabulous!! We had six wheelchairs, two people with walkers and five of us walking. When tickets were purchased 3 weeks before program....questions about wheelchairs and walkers were asked. We were assured no problems. These questions were addressed because we were taking Residents of our Nursing Home to see the show. Upon arriving we were placed against the first row of seats, with guests in them. Then informed fire code was isles must be clear. You can't place a wheelchair in an isle and have it clear. Ushers were upset because our residents could not be moved into chairs. Finally, after show started, some wheelchairs were at bottom of auditorium, some at top of auditorium. Our three walking Residents were seperated as no seats together were available. Two seats were found for four of us taking them to show. At one point we were told "The show was for children, we shouldn't have brought them". I guess my question is " Who paid their taxes to build the Civic Center?" Oh my.....our Residents.
