Their "No Haggle" pricing on used vehicles is a joke! I went in to buy a used truck just to run around in when doing projects so I didn't want anything new. Found a good used truck but the price they were asking was $2,000 over KBB and Edmunds "Dealer Retail Price". I asked if they could explain how they arrived at their asking price because I couldn't find any data to support the price. They printed up the appraisal set by "their" appraiser and it was $1,000 LESS than their asking price. When I asked why they were asking $1,000 higher than the inflated appraisal price, they said we don't negotiate from our asking price.

The truck had 2 electrical code issues, one window didn't work, prior accident on Carfax and there was current body damage yet their appraiser priced it as "Excellent" which only 3% of used vehicles qualify for because by definition the car has to be "Like New" with no repairs needed. By definition the truck fell under the "Good" category. I said I was going to make a cash offer and they quickly said they didn't even want hear it because "we don't negotiate from our set price". The salesman said "someone will eventually pay it even if it's higher than KBB or Edmunds Retail price". I would have at least expected them to hear my offer before sending me out the door. Very poor approach and sucks that they try to miss lead buyers by showing them an appraisal that is misrepresented. When I pointed out the "Excellent" rating was incorrect by definition the salesman said "that's how our appraisers do it and I can't change it".

New or used, I will never buy from Tri-Cities Toyota again. I have purchased New cars there in the past but I'll make the drive elsewhere just for the customer service alone. Funny thing is, I liked the truck so I was going to offer them KBB retail. I just didn't want to pay over retail especially since they couldn't justify the price increase. With the recent Covid-19 issues, car sales are down and they still treated us like this. I guess they don't need the sales.
