Let s do this as the Good, Bad, and Ugly . First, the Good . The hotel is in a great location, and the room rate was reasonable. The bar is really nice, with nice server and really good food. The room service was prompt, and the food was both good and nicely priced. The Bad , well, the whole thing has the vibe of a Ramada Inn, but with better mood lighting. It s as if a hipster vibe would make up for what is otherwise an unremarkable mid-market experience. Might be good marketing for millennials, but doesn t make up for an overall middling hotel. And the Ugly was pretty ugly. It took minutes (literally) to get hot water out of the taps. The sinks were so shallow (but trendy!) that you couldn t put your hands under them and wash. The lighting overall in the room was worse than bad, and even in the bathroom was totally inadequate. The mini-safe didn t work. The bedside electrical plug didn t work. The HVAC didn t allow different fan speeds, and the minimum temperature allowable was 68 degrees. There was NO COFFEE MAKER in the room. Really? Even Motel 6 gives you a coffee maker in the room. There was internet service, but it was $15 a day, and didn t work well. Overall a very disappointing experience. The W will be my last resort hotel choice.
