Affinity is a marketing company that provides services to name brands in including the CostCo Auto Buying program for CostCo members. "Special' CostCo pricing fthrough Affinity for vehicle buying leads consumers to believe they are dealing with CostCo, and that they will get near the lowest cost to purchase a particular vehicle, and gives customers a stated price that car dealers are supposedly selling the vehicle for to the CostCo customer. However, dealers that participate with Affinity/Costco will add various "dealer fees' to the stated price with those added fees adding up to thousands or more in addition to the 'CostCo price." This a a bait and switch tactic that brings customers into the dealership to later find out the price is really not as advertised by CostCo. Because of the unstated extra dealer fees added to the price it's not possible to truly shop for the best price based on CostCo price promises. Suggestion: If you want the lowest price forget about CostCo Buying service and get the best out the door price from three different dealers. If you don't want to take the time, use CostCo and expect to pay hundreds of more for the vehicle. Remember too that the dealer is kicking back several hundreds of dollars in marketing fees to CostCo Auto Buying Service/Affinity on every sale. Also more importantly know that the auto buying service is not run by CostCo but Affinity Development Group, of San Diego, CA. which contracts with the auto dealerships around the country and uses the CostCo name but the buying service it is not operated by CostCo, and CostCo, may not realize the dealers are adding extra costs in dealer fees to the CostCo prices published..
