This company is the example of lack of communication and false promises. It really should be their tagline on their business cards and website. Two home purchases with them and both were a nightmare. I decided to use them again because I must admit, the broker I was using is knowledgeable but that comes with a price. The price is false promises, lack of communication, and when you finally get contacted, it's to ask you for documents you've already provided them. When you tell them "I already sent you this", they say "oh, here it is, I'm opening all of your emails now."

Here's the last straw I had with them. A refinance. The easier of the two, yet, they manage to mess it up of course. We started this 4 months ago and now I can't get anyone to answer. First, I was advised by the broker to "just put in an extension on your taxes so it's faster for us". Sure, I would like faster. So I did. Then, I get told "you won't have to pay October or November mortgage payments and your first one will be in December". So great, I don't make an October payment since I expect to close by Mid October since that's also when my tax extension expires". Of course I hear from them at the end of October to tell me that I have to submit my taxes immediately and send it to them. I must also make the payment.

So after paying for late fees for taxes and mortgage, I send them the taxes. Fast forward to now, beginning of December. I don't hear from them. They've caused my late fees, paying for an appraisal and now that I'm going to use someone else, I've come to learn that I'll need a new appraisal because so much time has passed.

TLDR: DO NOT USE FIRST ALLIANCE HOME MORTGAGE.
