WOW..

WOW..
We were blown away by the tour, it wasn't too crowded and the weather was perfect with the evening sun over us and the sound of nature around Hobbiton. The Tour guides Mike and Sonny were awesome and made the experience what it was, they managed to get everyone laughing even those who didn't speak much English. We got some incredible photos going through Hobbiton, and didn't feel rushed at all, we all took our time taking turns to get the photos we all wanted.
Once we got through bagend and all the other streets you'd recognize from the films we came over a bridge with a water wheel and lake to find the Green Dragon Inn. We had a few ales and laughs, took time to soak up the atmosphere of the famous hobbit pub in the day light. As the sun went down it was finally time to reveal the banquet.
The banquet had me beat, I started with a couple of lamb shanks in gravy with mashed potatoes, then took huge servings of perfectly cooked salmon.. had to try the tender beef casserole, the roast chicken was moist and seasoned nicely, had to have at least some salad which was so fresh they probably grow their own veggies.
We had another Ale or two and desert... what?? Desert as well... didn't leave any room at all for that in my stomach but u managed to have a taste of it all and it was mouth watering, with mini pavs topped with fresh cream, berries, a couple of different mouth watering cakes..
We then grabbed our lanterns and walked (or waddled) back through Hobbiton to the party grounds for the last part of our tour.
Huge thanks to the staff at Hobbiton for making it so special, shout out to Sonny and Mike you guys rocked!! Sonny killed it bringing the good vibes and a touch of kiwi culture to the tour. Happy bday bro
