Hotel is nice and in a nice location. First the good - Staff is very friendly and overall the amenities are clean. People's comments about the long walk up the escalators to the rooms are not wrong, however, it is not that far. Sure, it is not a door in front of your car, but it sure is not a motel 6. If you have stayed in an upscale hotel, this walk is not that far.

Getting into the French Quarter by cab is only $7 for two people or the trolley during the day is available for all day for $3 or $1.50 per ride. Walking is possible (about 1 mile), but there is a lot of walking to be done in the Quarter and else where, so I recommend a cab or trolley ride.

Parking is $40 per night at the hotel, all valet. Hourly rate is $10 and $15 for hour 0-1 and 1-2. I highly recommend using the self park on Girod Street. Rates are $25 overnight and the hourly rate is in line with the rest of the city. Parking is terrible all around the CBD and Quarter, so budget and plan on spending the money for parking if you rent a car.

The Bad: The only poor thing I have to say is that housekeeping was disappointing. Although they came in and made the bed each afternoon, the actual cleaning was lacking. We were there for a week and I doubt they touched the bathroom floor let alone vacuum the rest of the place.
