If I could give 0 stars, I certainly would; too bad that's not an option. This company is so unbelievably rude. Apparently, they took over a company that I had a claim with from 2011 (my car insurance had lapsed unknowingly and I got into an accident; since I couldn't pay the balance due, it was passed over to debt collectors, Wilber Lane Law Firm, who I had always paid on time through automatic debit payments for the past 4 years), but Wilber & Associates failed to send any correspondence or call me to let me know that they had taken over my account. I didn't notice that my automatic payments had stopped, so I had missed a payment. I had absolutely NO problem making the payment, but asked that they send me official correspondence, so I could send a check through my bank so I didn't have to give my payment information over the phone, especially since I had no idea if they were even telling the truth. They told me if I didn't make the payment now that my claim would be in default. I've worked hard for the last 4-5 years to raise my credit and do NOT miss payments, ever. They informed me that any miscommunication was MY fault because I should have noticed that the payment didn't go through and that it was not their job to "babysit". They're very fortunate that they are located in Illinois because I would LOVE to see what they'd have to say to my face; cowards.
