I used to like this place, but it's gotten really ...
I used to like this place, but it's gotten really bad. Tonight was my last visit. I ordered a N.Y.strip which was my first mistake. It finally came over an hour later and looked like a piece of Swiss cheese and I couldn't cut through it with the steak knife. I told the waitress who told me they use a tenderizer tool on it. (I wish I would be snapped a pic of this thing) it was disgusting!!! She left me sitting there for 10 mins. So I finally got up to find her. I asked if I could order an egg sandwich to go. She was rude saying that i said i didnt want anything ..which is not what i said. I said i didnt want to wait a another hour.
The woman manager came over after 20 mins and tried to explain away the steak as well saying they use a mallet on it. And that's how to prepare a steak. (I've cooked many steaks and never used a mallet or tenderizer). She didn't apologize or try to fix anything, basically acted like she didn't care. Needless to say it took a half hour to finally get out of there and she charged me for the sides that came with the steak. ($7) plus the pork roll and egg sandwich that had 1 piece of porkroll on it. I understand things happen, but to be treated so badly when we go 3 timea a month!!! I will never go back to this place. Service and food is horrible. Rt. 1 diner just got a new customer.
