We stayed at Eden Roc Christmas 2016 and had a wonderful experience. This year the experience was definitely a disappointment. We arrived about 10 pm with our four children. We had booked a room where we had been told that we could have a roll away. When we arrived they told us that they couldn't give us a roll away because of "fire hazards" even though we stayed in the same type of room the year before and got a roll way without issue. After much debate, they agreed to put us in an upgraded room with a king bed and 2 roll aways. We went to the room and waited for the roll aways. After about 30 minutes, they brought one roll away. I asked where the other one was and they said that they could only do one roll away which was the whole point for switching rooms. I called the front desk and asked to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the original manager who approved 2 roll aways had left . The new manager said that we could only have one roll away. After arguing for 10 minutes, he finally relented. We finally received the 2nd roll away at 12:30. Our 15 year old, 12 year old, 10 year old, and 4 year old were exhausted at this point. The saga didn't end. At checkout, I had a $70 charge per night for roll aways. This was extremely frustrating since the original manager approved the roll aways at no cost. We got the charge removed but it should have never been there.

We were also disappointed with the quality of the outdoor hottub on our deck. All the parts were rusted and the tub was dirty when we arrived. I refused to let my children get in the hot tub. Also every morning we woke up and there were cigarettes on our deck. We aren't sure how they got there but suspect they were coming from rooms above us. We asked a manager to come to the room to view this and a manager never came.

The bathroom had no shower racks and there was no closet on the 2nd floor.

On a positive note, they did offered free frozen grapes in the am and free ice cream in the pm at the pool. This was new from the previous year. Unfortunately, one of the hot tubs didn't work our entire 5 day stay. The other hot tub didn't work our final day.
