When it is common to hear: don't go to "The Gateway to Hell," "The Gateway to Suffering," and "The No Help Gateway!" The community is not kidding. The new management company should really READ ALL OF THESE REVIEWS!!! They need to make changes, because some serious changes need to be made!
Let me get a few things straight:
"I am not a drug-seeker, I cannot control my severe allergies to foods and medications, nor do I enjoy having a severe and yes, very painful disease. I do not enjoy visits to the ER or being admitted to the hospital. I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS), I have a permanent catheter surgically implanted in my chest for medication infusions, I have blood clotting issues, asthma, and Degenerative Disc Disorder. So to all the doctors, PA's, nurses, and hospital staff at Gateway, let's just get that straight right now!
And I do not consider visits to your facility as a fun way to spend my time and I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to make sure every visit is as MISERABLE as humanly possible!
To be fair there have been a few exceptions to this, but they are so FEW that it's difficult to remember...which is SAD, PATHETIC, and just plain WRONG!!!
I feel badly for anyone who, like myself often needs emergent treatment for their chronic illness. Especially, if it's not an illness they deem important to help, then you are simply OUT OF LUCK!
Sorry for you if your treating physician is either Dr. V or Dr. W (sorry I'm not adding their full names, but most will know who I'm writing about by their initials alone). There are too many more to list, but these two...truly DO NOT care about patients who live with chronic, painful, and often debilitating diseases!
They make sure that you and everyone knows that they think you are drug seeking, faking new symptoms, and are a COMPLETE BURDEN AND THAT YOU ARE WASTING THEIR TIME!
There are a few compassionate doctors/PA's, but they are few and far between UNFORTUNATELY!
These doctors infect their staff with their negative attitudes and lack of compassion so that it flows into the nursing staff, making an already terrible visit (due to feeling so sick that I've broken down to have my family take me there) into the worst treatment EVER!
I wonder if they would appreciate their loved one's being treated the way they treat patients???
The worst visit was the time when I fell, was in excruciating pain, lost the feeling to my bladder and bowels after being moved around roughly during X-ray's, was vomiting due to the severe pain, treated like a drug seeker, and as if I was lying about falling. After 4 hours, one pain pill, nausea medication in my port, my daughter calling the "patient advocates" (don't get me started on these people, they are an ABSOLUTE JOKE!) that I was finally taken to MRI. Where they discovered, yes, I was TRULY IN PAIN BECAUSE I HAD BROKEN TWO VERTEBRAE IN MY BACK!!!
I would never go back to them again if I could AVOID it, unfortunately, I do not have this luxury all the time. I'd suggest making the drive to Northcrest in Springfield or St. Thomas in Nashville...any other ER, anywhere else is better than here!!!
I truly pray that the new management reads comments, but if they are just about the money, well Clarksville residents have no hope for a better ER or local hospital. I could write over 50 stories about my treatment and the way my family has been treated here, all bad. I could also write about the two times I remember being treated decently, and that is SAD!!!
