In March 2020 I was forced to cancel hotel accommodation I had booked in Bali through RAC Travel in Applecross because of COVID-19 and border closures. The cancellation was made within the required period of notice and I agreed to pay one night s stay of $352 as a penalty. I submitted the necessary RAC Refund Authorisation Form on the 28th March 2020 and advised that the $2110 owed to me would be refunded within 8 weeks. Despite numerous correspondences with RAC Travel I am still awaiting a refund over 6 months after submitting the claim. Unfortunately, RAC Travel booked the accommodation through Asia Escapes Holidays. As a result of my disappointing and frustrating experience, I simply cannot recommend RAC Travel or Asia Escape Holidays to anyone planning to travel.
