Jake Richards Review of Classic Stereo
Terrible experience!
Terrible experience!
I called to ask their hours on the phone, along with a few other questions, the guy seemed a little rude, but no big deal. I get there at around 5:15, they close at 6:00. No other customers are in the store. I am pretty excited because I made the hour and 15 minute drive to Ft. Wayne to check out some higher end home theater stuff.
I explained to the guy behind the counter (tall with a shaved head - didn't catch his name) that I have high end Best Buy speakers that I have had for a while, a subwoofer that just died, and an older high end Denon receiver that I just ordered. I tell him that I was hoping to listen to some different setups, learn a little, and find out where my money would best be spent on my home theater system.
After he announces that my speakers are crap, he then asks about my receiver I just ordered and tells me that that is also going to sound terrible as well. I ask him why, and he gets all defensive, and condescending like I have insulted him. "Okay"..... I said. To which this guy replies. "I don't know what to tell you. You bought the wrong receiver somewhere else, and I don't know what to tell you man!" While throwing his hands in the air.
This is the second worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life. I walked in looking to buy some floor speakers, maybe a subwoofer, and it must have been to much to handle for this expert salesman. How dare I shop around, walk in his store, and ask questions about audio equipment! Unbelievable! Literally record breaking! It amazes me that places like this can keep their doors open. Apparently they must have a lot of customers that already know it all, and only purchase there, because if you don't expect to get treated awful!
I told him I wouldn't waste anymore of his time and left. (Total time in store: 3 minutes). I reviewed the quality as poor -fair, I would not consider this accurate, as I never got to actually look at or use anything.
