Surprisingly beautiful environment! Let me start with that. The restaurant is the castle itself, we did not eat there, but we did walk in the area which is worth the visit in itself. The overnight stay is in a renovated building that was originally built in 1713. It has a good rustic atmosphere but is still equipped with modern conveniences. The staff were friendly and breakfast was more than adequate in both quality and choice options. Gaia Zoo, very close by, was a random part of the day filling for us, which was very popular. We also had dinner at Felice in Kerkrade and we were very pleased with that. Is within walking distance of the Hotel. Then why 4 and not 5 stars? The hotel had defects here and there. Looks like cuts that a top hotel would not make. (Handbook hanger hung somewhat loose, turn mirror did not turn, stop in the bath was replaced with a normal stop and also some small things.
