All of our interactions with Rockford Center have been very positive, in both the day program and the in-patient program. Yes, it is a bit dingy, as one would expect in an older building occupied by people who would rather not be there. I found the staff polite, friendly and caring.

I am surprised by negative reviews. This is a mental hospital, not a resort hotel. No one would work with the mentally ill unless they are truly devoted. I can only assume many people are not familiar with mental health hospitals, or don't like all of the rules, which are in place for excellent reasons. Perhaps patients and families expect too much, or want instant results. I would highly recommend this facility. They give the patients the tools they need to stay well.
