Eva Hoerth Review of REI

I want to give a shout out to a REI employee named Gregg. I visited REI yesterday, seeking a hiking backpack. I'm a frugal shopper so of course my first stop was the clearance section. I found the perfect backpack that was hanging on the rack under a sale tag (along with other backpacks that looked just like it). When I went to pay, the backpack was ringing up as full price ($50 more than I expected). The cashier I had was not helpful (older woman). She didn't believe me when I said I found the backpack in clearance section. So I walked back to go ask an employee to help me figure out if it was on sale, and a man named Gregg was there to not only kindly and patiently walk back to the clearance section, but went out of his way to sell me the backpack for the clearance price. Turns out REI made a mistake and had a bunch of backpacks hanging under clearance when they weren't actually on sale. ANYWAY. Thank you, Gregg! You saved me $50. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have wanted to go back to REI after that negative interaction with the cashier. Gregg restored my faith in humanity. I owe you a beer (or maybe 3 or 4!).
