Mike Thomas Review of The Philadelphia Contributions...

I am beyond frustrated with Philadelphia Contributionship and Mark1 restoration.
This started in May after the storm when we had our roof evaluated by a local trusted roofer because of the large amount of storm damage that occurred to most homes in our neighborhood as well as the surrounding area. It was determined by the certified hail specialist that the roof indeed has damage caused by hail including on the soft metal ridge vent as well as the flashing.
I made a claim and I was told that a representative from Mark1 Restoration would be out. Within 2 weeks they were out. I made multiple followup calls to Philadelphia Contributionship in July and August after not hearing anything. Several people were on vacation during these attempts including Todd and his boss.
My first return call was from Mark1 Restoration offices asking what I needed and if I wanted to schedule the roof replacement. I was confused as to why my return call was coming from them and not the insurance company. I told her I was still waiting to hear back from the insurance company.
It was finally determined that the restoration company dropped the ball and never reported back to the insurance company, apparently the employee that did the evaluation was no longer with the company. In my opinion Philadelphia Contributionship also dropped the ball by not following up on an outstanding claim for MONTHS!
I was eventually contacted by Mark Rosier from Mark1 restoration who said he would be out in 4 days. It rained, he said he would then be out later in the week. 1 month...not week....1 MONTH after he initially made contact with me and 5 Months after I filed the claim he finally showed up and inspected the roof.
He later reported to the insurance company in an email saying no damage had occurred and then telling Todd from PC Attached is the Hail inspection report with photos for the Michael and Jylana Thomas claim in Glen Rock for your review. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I am sure this will be an uphill battle with this homeowner because 3 of his neighbors received new roofs.
Since then over 12 roofs have been replaced in the neighborhood including directly across the street and right next to me...all insurance approved claims due to the storm that did so much damage to the area.
I had the roofer come out again after the initial decline and do additional plotting. He again showed the soft metal damage, the hail dimples, etc. in great detail.
I find it interesting that the insurance company and restoration company is saying the issue is because my roof is a 16 to 17 year old roof when the home is only 14 years old at time of inspection, that doesn't add up.
So it looks like Mark Rosier was correct, but in this case it has been an uphill battle for me as the client not the insurance company. I am sitting here over 7 months after filing a claim and getting declined not because of my timeline but because of a poorly managed branch of Mark1 restoration company and an insurance company that continuously dropped the ball, didn't follow up on my claim, and drug this out for a very extended period of time.
