Worked here for 3 weeks, it was all i could manage. After working in other call centres i compared this to being in a classroom run by kids. No professionalism anywhere. Team leaders with no ppl skills at all. Training was 2 weeks, first half of day was listening to info being read out to you imaged on to the wall, 2nd half of day was call listening. 3rd week your on the phones, to get on with it, its a sink or swim environment. Once your on the phones youl notice you are only one taking calls whilst everyone else sits talking or messing about. And whilst mr sykes sits in his ivory tower he forgot to invest in his workers safety, the building is old, no AC, a lift that can only be deemed as dangerous, toilets are rank by the afternoon and although some depts have more than one loo most floors have one each either side for men and woman. There are no chill out areas so breaks are even stressful as theres no where to go except for a small canteen with a few tables and next door to that is a room with a few settees in which is kept dark ,supposedly for relaxation. If your a very young 20yr old something and need a helping hand, promotion is so easy, get the title, get the higher salary and go somewhere else to have a better career prospect and better work experience. This is a stop gap place, its easy money if you dont mind all the above. Im old school, and this is supposed to be a multi cultural place to work which appealead, but i dont think the older generation come under their bracket.
