I worked at Rockford for a year and a half as the CNO or at least held that title as no leader really had the power to do their job as the CEO micromanages everything. Rockford was the most unsafe place I have ever worked for , even having worked for a maximum security facility for the criminally insane. The staffing is almost obsolete because of the working conditions and the amount of patients that are accepted each day. There is no accountability for the patients as they are allowed to do whatever they want from smoking in the hall, destroying property and attacking staff, with no consequences and we keep accepting them back. The census is 138 beds but they accept patients as high as 156 on a consistent basis. There is no security to support the staff and you only hear everything that you do wrong, nothing positive. Most of the staff do their best under the conditions they have to work under, but senior management doesn t care, they only care about perception of outsiders and making money. Senior leadership needs to change in order to provide safe quality care for the patients and a safe place to work for the staff that remain loyal. Also, if you start to work there and want to leave you have to get out of Delaware to do so without them knowing and sabotaging the places you have applied to, especially Christiana Hospital. They are made aware anytime someone from Rockford applies there.
