Layne Review of Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles

We stayed here on the last leg of our crazy LA Trip. We were instantly greeted by the doormen who assisted us in getting our things up to the room. The huge marble columns and glass front doors give this place an upscale, classy vibe. Once in the door we looked up to the tall ceilings and beautiful decor of the lobby. We were checked In and up to our room with in minutes. The elevators are easy to access. Must use key card at night to access guest rooms from elevator. Now beware to the room number as the signs are misleading and you will end up on the other side as we did. The room had an amazingly fresh clean smell when we opened the door. We had a king size bed with a couch as well. We had a pretty cool view of the city and was able to catch a few planes landing. The room was very clean and stocked with the necessities. Huge tv and coffee maker. But let's talk bathroom. Very contemporary decor but I love it. Stand up shower only with full glass doors. Super hot water and awesome shower head!! Bed was the most comfortable ever and made me sad to leave. My only negatives about here is that housekeeping is a bit intrusive as they entered our room several times both days, even when we had our sign up and told them we didnt need it. The other issue is that they charged us 12.00 for a bottle water when we only drank one at 6.00 a piece. The concierge was very helpful as were the front desk ladies. The gift shop is moderately priced and has quite a bit to look over. The restaurant is spectacular and I recommend the egg rolls!! Theres also a Starbucks inside which I only seen open once. They do have great baristas and great coffee. The pool was being renovated so we were offered acess to a hotel pool near by but we didn't use it. The hotel is right next to LAX in a great location. Busy busy place but if your traveling for leisure, business, or a weekend getaway, this is the place for sure.
