I am a cradle catholic, as they say, and was brought up in the Catholic faith at another state. We moved to MN close to four years ago. We sought out several Catholic Churches in the hopes we could feel at home in any of them. This is the church for us. It not only has a very wonderful weekly message, it is an uplifting community. We love the way we can come in and pray with fellow Catholics. Strangers hold hands to pray the Lord s Prayer. Everyone s entitled to their opinion. However, I would love to know what the bad reviews think a Catholic mass should look like. It is NOT a celebration of Jesus death, but a welcoming of His redeeming resurrection. We remember his sacrifice but also celebrate how He opened the path of Life for us through His resurrection. The priests are so on point, they even got rid of the chair behind the altar and sit along with the people. They only go up to celebrate the rites. Readings and everything else, they sit with the community, among us. Maybe this is too modern or radical but that s what Jesus was called when He preached, too. The diversity in the community is beautiful and there is a lot more youth than I ve seen in other communities. As with everyone in MN, relationships are slow. But we take away strength from God for the upcoming week and trust Jesus will open the community up to us eventually.
