Was back in town (Victoria) for the the Tour de Victoria and we chose the HGP because it was across the street from the start and without a doubt the HGP was the perfect hotel for this event along with all the other things you do when in Victoria. The funny thing is, I got the distinct impression that they didn't really want spandex wearing people toting $5000 carbon fiber bicycles through their lobby or anywhere else in their hotel. As I was checking out, I got asked to take myself and my bicycle outside. And when checking in, they didn't seem to want to allow me to store my bike in my room. Guess some people just don't like cyclists.

Beyond that, the hotel has a great location; fitness facilities are excellent for a hotel; food is decent in their restaurants if not a bit expensive; house keeping staff were very friendly, but will I book HGP for next year's Tour? Probably not.
