Great school. The intellectual environment could possibly be second to none. It really is 'the life of the mind', as it says on the tin. But the area sucks. There's not much to do (except study) and it's psychologically far from Chicago proper. You have to sacrifice a lot for this highly goal-orientated way of life but, well, that's the way it is. Decide for yourself if you think it's worth it or not.
