I am a supporter of the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast and have been for a number of years, having participated with some of their fundraisers, such as the Mutt Derby, hosted by The Fur Seasons, and Paws and Claws, their annual gala. Everything this organization does is first class and they have absolutely nothing to hide. In fact, they have much to be proud of. For the second year in a row, the HSTC received a four-star rating, the highest rating available, from Charity Navigator, which is an INDEPENDENT charity evaluator. This organization rates nonprofits on fiscal management, accountability and transparency. If the HSTC is so poorly run, as some of its critics charge with absolutely no proof, then how is it that an independent organization can grant a four-star rating? So I ask, what are the critics truly after? What is their end goal? When will they stop? How many accusations must the HSTC endure? Because if these angry accusers really wanted to reach some kind of resolution, then they would sit down like reasonable adults to discuss their concerns with the HSTC and look at the FACTS.But by just going on the attack, I can only venture a guess that they are the ones with a hidden agenda for some type of personal gain. And that s just sad.
