Sebastiaan Zeeff Review of Ziggo Dome

I've visited this place multiple times and it was kinda okay every time. When you're up close to the podium, the ambience is decent, but as soon as you get further out, you feel a bit disconnected from the podium due to the layout of the seats. If possible, I would certainly recommend against buying tickets for the upper ring.
The service of the Ziggo Dome is decent, although I don't like the plastic coin token system they use as payment for drinks. With the current transaction speed of debit cards, it should be very doable to allow payment for drink with cards at the bar, although I guess they just hope that you buy too many tokens and never return them. Oh, and there can be quite the lineup before the token dispensing machines at ground level before the start of a show, but there's usually less of lineup one or two levels up.
My last visit was less of a success. As they had tightened security, there was a very long line before the entrance. This meant that although we were seated in time for the start of the show, some only made it in during the first or second song of the concert. The slow but steady trickle of those who were held up was very distracting. Since you do pay premium for this venue I do expect them to think about and take care of logistics. It would've been much better if they had just opened the doors half an hour earlier (at the time that was actually printed on the tickets).
