We dropped my wife off on the Friday before Mother...

We dropped my wife off on the Friday before Mother's Day to give her the first retreat away from our son and me in nearly two years. It was five star service from the start. Our toddler was crying and generally upset in the backseat and Dwayne, one of the doormen, saw and literally sprinted to go grab a stuffed panda dressed in a Mandarin Oriental uniform to give him and talked to him calmly. Our son calmed down and spent the weekend obsessed with "di panduh" and hiding it so we could play hide and go seek with it.

Like other similar kinds of businesses around, the spa and restaurant had limited access, and I wasn't able to book a massage, pedicure, or anything else and my wife made a reservation with a friend for dinner elsewhere. From what I heard on the phone, it sounds like you need to book a spa services a good 3-4 weeks out if you are looking to schedule for a weekend, at this point.

That being said, they arranged--and on fairly short notice--to have flowers in the room for when she arrived that appeared exactly as the listing I sent them for a different flower company and seemed to be of even higher quality, without a significant difference on the price!

The Pandemic may be limiting your access to the full amenities of most businesses right now, but the Mandarin Oriental is still putting out service worthy of their five star status. If we decided to do anything similar again, we will be back at the Mandarin. Highly recommended.
