We are local and were excited to try out the new tap room at Guinness. We visited late afternoon on Saturday. We were surprised by how nice the space is even though it is temporary.
We were greeted by a bartender when we walked in but were told by her that she was really busy and would be back to serve us. (Even though the bar had plenty of empty seats and the whole place was not half full).
Another bartender approached, gave us a menu, told us about the brewery and even told us where restrooms were if we needed them. We ordered two beers from her and sat at the bar.
Suddenly the first bartender came charging over, starting banging glasses around and reprimanded us for ordering drinking from someone else.
It was very uncomfortable.
She then walked over to a newly arrived couple and told them she had some large orders to fill and not to order from anyone else and turned and glared at us! Needless to say we had one beer and left even though we had planned on ordering from the food truck and hanging out. I guess tips are more important than good service....maybe the competition behind the bar needs to be addressed
