Got a spiral perm here with Skoti this new year, and oh! I CANNOT SAY HOW MUCH I ADORE IT. I've had long straight slightly coarse hair all my life, and I have a certain amount of pride on how well I take care of it. And when I said "perm" to family and friends they shuddered at the thought of the 70's poodle perms. Many insisted it would fry my hair and damage it beyond repair. Skoti took care of me! After getting a vague idea of what i wanted (more than a body wave, but definitely not any tight ringlets) showed me rods that I was IMMEDIETLY wary of, and as far as I understood way too small. But Skoti was patient and explained the process of the perm and how she was gonna wrap larger chunks of hair around what I thought were too small rods to give them curl, and most importantly body for the curl. I can't say this enough: LADIES, TRUST YOUR STYLIST.
My hair has settled down in to beautiful curls, twists, and waves. So many friends have double taked, asking if I'd been straightening my hair all this time cause of how natural it looks. Skoti was very specific in telling me to nourish my hair post perm, and I wasn't about to take her lightly! After a few hair masks of mixing things like olive oil, eggs, mayo, and avocados, my hair was back to its full shine within the first two weeks! Even Skoti was astonished at how quickly it had recovered!
10 outta 10 would recommend! I CANNOT rave about this place enough! The ladies here won't steer you wrong!
