My husband had filed a disability claim with the VA which they initially denied. Upon appeal, we located a VA attorney to help with the process. That VA attorney was Paul Burkhalter of Morgan & Weisbrod in Dallas, Texas. He was absolutely wonderful in explaining the process, providing guidance and getting all of the necessary paperwork filed with the VA. His paralegal, Kyle Sturdivant, was also very helpful in the process and friendly as well. In the end, the appeal was successful at the DRO level with the VA granting my husband a 100% disability rating. Also, the VA backdated the eligibility date back to the date of the original claim filing and my husband received a lump sum payment.
