When I said Kino was my favourite cinema I was lying. THIS is my favourite cinema. But unfortunately it's going under renovations at the moment (which is unnecessary because it is already PERFECT) so is currently unavailable. ACMI Cinema 2 was basically my home. It even had a peculiar, nice smell that was very comforting. The seats are SO comfortable. The staff are really great and know their stuff. ACMI also show some really interesting retrospectives, as well as normal movies, which is much better than the Astor's itinerary imo. When they showed The Clock, they showed it at a cinema that was underneath the building, and walking to this particular room was so appropriately surreal, because it involved a huge, dark, spotlit passage in which one had to wait in to get in to the screening room, even at like 10, 11pm at night, because this is WHERE THE CULTURE LIVES! It's also close to the beautiful Flinders Station, and they have a cool shop and cafe/ bar. However, once I believe I caught a pretty bad cold in ACMI, after watching some experimental shorts.
