In my 4 day experience at Shepards beach and resort in Clearwater, Florida I had an excellent time, I ate delicious seafood, rode jetskis, and had an awful experience with the staff at this resort. The bartenders are excluded from this review as they were fantastic, Alana, out of all of them was by far one of the best bartenders I have ever had. However, the staff that maintains the front desk and housekeeping are horrid and rude. We checked out of our room at 10:04 and got on the rode back to Georgia when around 1:45 I realized I had left one of my favorite and rather pricey dresses. I called the front desk and told them the situation where it seemed that they just really didn't feel like utilizing their staff and resources at all. The lady placed me on hold for over 15 minutes where she was waiting on her housekeeping to check for the dress, which I knew was in the room simply because I only wore it for the 2 hours that we left to go eat on our last night. Once we got home, the dress was left near the dresser, on the floor. After I was told that no one had found the dress, we asked to speak to the property manager who first got a snotty attitude when we gave her the only 2 options that there was. Either the dress was taken from the room by housekeeping or nobody really looked for it. After being put on hold once again for another 10 minutes the manager, Cody, came down and told me that she had found the dress and that housekeeping was only told to look under the bed. So, moral of the rant is, stay at this "resort" all you like, have a great time, soak up the sun, but by no means leave anything at the hotel and expect for the staff the be at all cooperative when you call back asking for it.
